These last weeks have caused us to reinvent our daily routine. We are learning to do our jobs from home, teach our children from home, and even order our groceries from home. In many ways, our homes have never been more important. In this turmoil, however, perhaps there is also an opportunity. As we have read in the Book of Acts this year, the early Christian movement was a community of house churches. Now, we are too!
Over the next five weeks, we will explore what it means to be Church in Your Street. We will cover topics including prayer walking your home, mission to your neighbors in the shutdown, spiritual conversations, and even how to host a social-distancing-friendly prayer gathering on your lawn. In so doing, hopefully we will make a permanent change and see our homes and streets as the primary place of our Christian work and mission!
